The MV Addiction is the most luxurious surf charter in the Mentawai Islands. At 24 metres (80 ft) in length and 8 metres wide the vessel is also one of the 2 largest boats operating in the region. There are 4 guest cabins, 3 of which have a double bed and single bunk and 1 that has 4 spacious bunks. It has a large gourmet galley, dinner seating for 10 guests and a huge lounge area. There are also two spacious outdoor lounges and dining areas.

The crew aboard this high speed catamaran have over 15 years of combined experience in West Sumatra and with a top speed of 18 knots & cruising speed of 11 knots (most charters cruise at 7-8 knots), there’s no faster way to get you to the surf, meaning more surf time. Nothing offers comfort quite like a large catamaran. No need for gyro controlled stabilizers thanks to 2 hulls and an 8 meter beam. Whether flying along at 18 knots+ or just sitting at anchor, The MV Addiction will be the smoothest ride you ever get.

When are the Mentawai waves at their best?

• March and April: glassy conditions, a few more rights, less people but smaller waves.
• May, June, July and September: Big surf – high season.
• Late September and October: glassy conditions, a few more rights, less people but smaller waves.
• November, December, January and February: Rainy but still good surface conditions and smaller waves with no one around. Clean waves.

How to get there?
Simply book a flight to Padang (PDG)  with airlines like Emirates/Singapore Airlines/Etihad/ Sri Lankan/ Qatar ( free surf boards ) or Turkish Airlines / Tiger Airlines/ Air Berlin / Condor
